Underwhelming, dull and tired.

This hotel is old, dull and very tired, even the Mercure sign on the hotel outside is falling apart. Front desk staff spoke some english ( no french ) which was a plus. The baggage porter was a sweet helpful man. Rooms are tired and smelling of old smoke ( from times past I suggest). Breakfast was very basic, large amounts of chinese foods piled high and sloppy. Feeding of the masses, more like a canteen for 5000 rather than a Gran Mercure or even a hotel in general. Executive lounge was very basic but at least they had one ! The only two positives, coffee was good and its in walking distance to the subway. Gran Mercure / Accor…… shameful that you think this standard is acceptable.

We were given a large room with a sitting area, a corridor, bathroom and a large main bed area. It was like a mini suite. May have been 45 sq mtrs. It was a corner room so we had great views from 3 sides. Furnishing was great and comfy. Bed was large and spacious. Enough seating and fully appointed rooms. Location is right next to xidan station on line 1 and 4. Also close by is another station on another line. This hotel is barely 2 km from tiananmen square and all vip areas of Beijing. There is a convenience store right down so you can always go grab a bite or a beer. There are 2 stores. One closes at 7 pm. The other is 24x7. Bella and others at the front desk were very helpful. There is a Starbucks in the lobby and also a Haagen Daz. Breakfast was superb with a huge choice of everything. Good quality food, we'll cooked and practically everything you could ask for. Even the timings was good. From 6.30 am till 10.30 am. Overall this is a great hotel at a great location with 4 malls at 500 mtrs.

The condition of the room really needs improvement! AC control from the 90', probably this skyworth TV too, mattress over used See pics attached Unfortunately very disappointed by this hotel especially the service (front desk). Don't except any special attention if you are a All Accor member (gold) or even Accor plus, like complementary fruits or drink usable for beer/house wine..On top of that I have raised the same feedback to the guest relationship manager and then emailed the management office, nobody seemed to care I am saying this after having stayed in many Accor hotels, Grand Mercure, Pullman, Sofitel in China. I won't come back even if the location is good

Perfectly located - within walking distance to Tienanmen Square & Forbidden City. Close to Beijing South station. Malls nearby too. Room on the 10th floor afforded superb views. Connie Zhang & Icey at front desk wete extremely helpful. Angel lived up to her name at the exec lounge - ensuring freshly made veg food for me! Superb concierge services as well.

The hotel is really good, our room 937 was very comfortable. The room was really very clean, the carpet was pleasant to the feet, in general, all the little things were thought out for a sense of comfort. yes, maybe not everything is new, but all the appliances, light, shower work fine, everything is in good condition. I would like to mention the work of the hotel staff separately. They are people who are ready to help, spend time solving the guests' questions. I am especially grateful to Tina Tian - she helped my colleague and me book tickets to the zoo, navigate the map of Beijing, and in general answered our questions all the days that we were (from October 2 to October 5). I should say, breakfast was very good! The only negative moment of being in hotel is bad internet connection.
